Town Board approves advisory boards

The Pahrump Town Board approved the memberships of the town's 18 advisory boards and committees. The item had been tabled at the last regular meeting due to inconsistencies in the list.

Those same advisory boards' meetings will now be recorded in compliance with Nevada's open meeting law since the board approved recording the board meetings, purchasing digital audio recorders to do so.

In an effort to avoid any conflict of interest, the board rescinded a previous resolution naming the Pahrump Alliance Valley Economic Development as the town's official economic development entity that named Chairman Laurayne Murray and Town Manager Dave Richards as members of PAVED's executive board.

PAVED will remain the town's economic development entity, but a new resolution approved by the board in the same motion removed the language designating Murray and Richards as executive board members.
