Goldwell artist's residencyPVT
The Goldwell Open Air Museum outside the ghost town of Rhyolite is continuing the founder, Albert Szukalski's vision of making art by offering artist residency and workshop programs to challenge and support the creative growth of artists from a variety of disciplines. The museum provides support for six or more residencies each year awarded through a rigorous jury process. Supported residencies offer $500 a week as a stipend, housing and $150 perdiem/travel support. Artist will receive 24-hour studio access and technical and production assistance. They are responsible for providing their own supplies, materials and personal tools. The artist workspace program allows artists to establish their own unsupported residency time using the facilities of the Red Barn Art Center to pursue individual or group work. Artists will be charged $200 per week per artist, or $50 per day with a minimum of two days, receive housing and have 24-hour studio access to technical and production assistance. The deadline for residency during January and June 2009 is Oct. 1. All application materials should be submitted electronically to goldwell@goldwellmuseum.org. The Red Barn Art center is just southwest of the museum in the Bullfrog town site near Rhyolite. Go to www.goldwellmuseum.org for more information and applications. |
