James E. Lane

James E. Lane, 69, passed away Aug. 14, 2008, in Las Vegas.

He was born Jan. 24, 1939, in Beverly Hills, Calif., and was a resident of Pahrump for 14 years, having come from Phelan, Calif.

He was employed as a heavy equipment operator.

Daughters Debbie Castle of Las Vegas and Alice Souza of Louisville, Ky; sister Joanne Miller; grandchildren Randi Boren, Laura Chapman and Brittany Campo; niece Becky Miller and nephew Ricky Miller survive him.

The memorial service will be at 12-noon Saturday, Aug. 23 at Lee Funeral Home, 720 Buol Lane. (08/14/2008)

Angel Cristos Rydel Fraga

Angel Cristos Rydel Fraga passed away August 18, 2008, in Pahrump.

He was born June 18, 2008, in Pahrump.

Mother Anika E. Smith of Pahrump; father Gabriel A. Fraga of Pahrump; brother Bryce N. Smith of Pahrump; grandparents Jeff and Christina Hintz of Pahrump and Gabriel and Connie Delgado of Pahrump and California survive him.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Anika Gokosivil.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 23 at Pahrump Family Mortuary and services will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 25 at the Trinity Assembly of God Church.

Phillip Lee Clendennin Sr.

Phillip Lee Clendennin Sr., 66, passed away July 31, 2008, in Reno.

He was born May 24, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., and was a resident of Pahrump for 20 years, having moved here in 1988.

He was "Mr. Smart," owner of Smart Auto Salvage and Recycling.

He was a collector of antique and classic cars and a member of the Un-Club Boys.

Sons Phillip Lee Clendennin Jr., and William Otto (Destiny) Clendennin, both of Pahrump; daughter Ann Marie (Jason Henson) Faust, of Pahrump and grandchildren Emery and Phillip (III) Clendennin, Amber and Adella Faust and Nicholas Farris survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Phyllis Clendennin; brother Alby Clendennin; sister June Clendennin; wife Mary Ann (Curtain) Clendennin and grandson little Lonny William Faust Jr.

Services were at 11 a.m. Aug. 21 at 911 S. Lola Lane in the "Red Church."

Bill O'Brien

Bill O'Brien passed away July 7, 2008, at home.

He was born Jan. 4, 1930.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 29 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City. (07/07/2008)

Sylvester (Swede) F. Rammer

Born on Oct. 17, 1925, in Sleepy Eye, Minn., Swede passed peacefully away at the age of 82, on Aug. 14, 2008, of an extended illness.

The family would gratefully like to thank the nurses, doctors and support staff of Spring Valley Hospital for their care and compassion during his time there.

We would also like to thank all his friends and the businesses he patronized in Pahrump for their care and kindness to him, especially after the loss of his adored friend and wife of 57 years, Barbara, who preceded him in death.

Swede served in the Army during World War II in the Phillipines until his honorable discharge, after which he became a Pasadena, Calif. policeman.

Upon moving his family to Henderson, he worked for Titanium Metals Corp. until his retirement.

Later, moving to Las Vegas, Swede drove for Yellow Cab for many years.

In 1990 they moved to Pahrump where they lived the remainder of their lives.

Swede is survived by his loving family; sons Scot Rammer of Las Vegas, Jerry (Laura) Rammer of Santa Rosa, Calif.; daughters Kitty (Larry) Bryan and Judy (Jim) McLain, both of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A private family burial was held Aug. 19 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Las Vegas. (08/14/2008)
