The Nevada Board of Wildlife Commissioners will select a new chair and vice chair, and welcome four new wildlife commissioners at its meeting in Eureka today and Saturday.

New commissioners are Preston Wallace, of Dyer, representing farming; Gerry Lent, of Reno; Michael McBeath, of Las Vegas and Thomas Cavin, of Carson City.

The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Eureka County Courthouse, located at 10 South Main St., in Eureka.

Items on the agenda include review and approval of waterfowl seasons and several informational items.

The commission will hear a proposed regulation to alter eligibility waiting periods for hunters who successfully draw a tag for antelope, bighorn sheep, elk and mountain goat.

The commission will also consider a regulation that would add wolverines to the state's list of protected mammals. Systems Consultants will provide a report on the 2008 Application Hunt Draw, and Law Enforcement Chief Rob Buonamici will give a report on the agency's recent outreach efforts on shed antlers.
