Fall Festival entertainment update

PVT

Dave Yoder, chairman of the entertainment committee for the Pahrump Fall Festival, isn't in the position of looking for entertainment for this year's event. "I'm overwhelmed with the amount of talent available for the entertainment shows set for the fall festival," he said. "I wish I had known about some of it earlier."

For those interested in being part of the festival entertainment for this year, the time to make your presentations and proposals to the committee would have been sometime in February. Yoder said, "All the contracts for this year have been in place for six months." And although he appreciates the interest and ideas, he really can't make changes to the schedule at this late date.

"People are welcome to get on the list for 2009," he said. "But it's too late for this year. The festival is right around the corner."

Some of the committees can still use volunteers. Call Bob Irving, 702-596-1731 to find out which committees need help or see the individual contact information on the Pahrump Fall Festival ad in this newspaper.

The parade theme this year is "Movie Madness" and the application deadline for entering is Sept. 12. Call Barbara Buchanan, 702-327-2402, for more information.
