Goldfield Days

The historic Goldfield Days Celebration and Land Auction will be Aug. 15-17.

There will be a parade, live music and street dancing, staged shoot-outs, crafts, antiques, bus tours of Goldfield, a western barbecue and much more.

Seniors off to Laughlin

The Pahrump Senior Center is sponsoring a bus trip to Laughlin.

The bus will leave the VFW Post 10054 on Homestead Road 8 a.m. Aug. 21 and arrive at the Edgewater Casino at 11 a.m.

Participants will receive a voucher for a free lunch buffet.

A shopping outlet and a theater are located across the street from the casino.

The bus leaves Laughlin at 5 p.m. for the return trip and will arrive back at the VFW at 8 p.m.

The cost is $20 per person and reservations must be made and paid by Aug. 19.

Dress-up tea party

Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church will hold a dress-up tea party for young girls ages 5-12.

The party is 2-5 p.m. Aug. 30 at the church, 1300 E. Highway 372.

Hats, fancy dresses, jewelry, gloves, shoes and other accessories will be provided for the girls to use.

A craft project and a manners lesson is on the agenda.

Seating is limited and reservations must be made by Aug. 27.

Pahrump Film Festival

The 2nd annual Pahrump Film Festival will be held Sept. 6 at Red Sky BBQ.

Two new movies will premiere: "Demon Haunt" by Ted V. Mikels and "Dorks on the Moon" by Harvey Caplan.

Free massage for Relay for Life

Licensed massage therapists: Anita Kanga, Cindy Church and Mavis Wallace from CC's Beauty Zone and Day Spa, and other licensed massage therapists: Ken Burt, Marcelino Martinez and Samantha Sarandos, will volunteer their chair massage skills to the Relay for Life in Petrack Park 6-9 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Soroptomist's booth.

All donations will be given to Relay for Life.

Class of '88 reunion

The Pahrump Valley High School class of '88 plans to celebrate a 20-year reunion 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the TPC Golf Course instead of the Flamingo in Las Vegas.

Ice cream social

Nevada Outreach Training Organization and No To Abuse will have an ice cream social 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 7 at the Bob Ruud Community Center.

Ice cream with sprinkles for everyone and door prizes awarded to a winning ticket.

The event is free to all Pahrump citizens as a way of saying thank you for your support of our organization.

Pahrump Computer Users

The Pahrump Computer Users group meets at 1 p.m. Sept. 15 in the large conference room of the Pahrump Community Library.

This month's program will be "Building a Web site from scratch" in a step-by-step presentation by Mike Erwin.

The meeting schedule for October will be 1 p.m. Oct. 13, and the schedule for November will be 1 p.m. Nov. 3. Please note the changes.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

The event dates for Art in the Park are 9-5 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5.

7th annual Car and Truck Show

Tumbleweed Tavern and Horizon Markets will sponsor the 7th annual Car and Truck Show Sept. 13.

Last minute registration begins at 8 a.m.

There will be oldies music with a live DJ, raffles, vehicle judging and an awards presentation.

Anyone interested in a vendor booth or early car registration should call 727-4100 in advance.

The event benefits First Choice Pregnancy Center Education Program.

P.O.S.S. Schedule

The Pahrump Open Schooling Show dates are:

Sept. 13, 6 p.m. and Oct. 25, 9 a.m.

Shows are held Saturdays at McCullough Arena.

Awards will go to first place, ribbons will go to 1st through 5th.

High point for the day will be awarded and youth high point at year-end. PAC and OCAP approved.
