Deportivo Pahrump and Las Vegas battled on even terms throughout their Las Vegas Valley Soccer League game Sunday at Honeysuckle Park.

With more than 100 fans watching on a warm afternoon, Las Vegas won 4-2, getting the go-ahead goal on a penalty kick by Leonardo Castillo with 15 minutes left.

Erick Rodriguez and Roberto Roman scored for Pahrump in the game that was tied 1-1 at halftime.

Las Vegas had speedy strikers, who kept the pressure on the Pahrump defenders and Deportivo's aggressiveness in the midfield shut down several downfield attacks against keeper Osvaldo Cruz.
