Lynda D. Rhodes Advertisement

Lynda D. Rhodes, 55, was arrested Tuesday, July 1 after allegedly attempting to file a false insurance claim and a false police report with the Nye County Sheriff's Office.

Rhodes reportedly called the sheriff's office and reported that her truck had been vandalized.

According to the sheriff's office press release, Rhodes had also filed an insurance claim for those damages.

Further investigation by general assignment detectives, however, revealed the damages were pre-existing and had occurred before she even bought the truck.

In addition, officers found evidence showing Rhodes applied for insurance coverage just prior to making the bogus claim.

She was arrested and booked on charges of making a false insurance claim and filing a false report of a crime.

Her bail was set at $5,632.
