Football practice starts Aug. 14 and volleyball workouts begin Aug. 18, and there are still regular-season schedules to complete.

But it's not too soon to plan for the post-season.

The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association has announced the playoff schedules for Class A football and volleyball teams.

Beatty, Tonopah, Round Mountain and Gabbs are Nye County 1-A schools.

Football: The post-season dates are Nov. 8, Nov. 15 and Nov. 22.

Nov. 8

Regional Finals

* No. 4 South at No. 1 South, 1 p.m.;

* No. 3 South at No. 2 South, 1 p.m.;

* No. 4 North at No. 1 North, 1 p.m.;

* No. 3 North at No. 2 North, 1 p.m.

Nov. 15

Semifinals

The lower-seeded winning North team will play at the higher seeded South team at 1 p.m.

The higher-seeded North team will play at home against the lower-seeded South team at 1 p.m.

Nov. 22

Championship

Nov. 15 winners play at Arbor View High School in Las Vegas; kickoff is at noon.
