Car wash

The Pahrump Valley High School Football Boosters Club will hold a car wash Aug. 9 at the Wulfy's parking lot, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The cost is $10 for the car wash and a barbecue.

* Pahrump Valley High School coach Leo Verzilli said football conditioning on the high school field is continuing. Workout dress is casual -- T-shirts, shorts and spiked shoes.

Times are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

RCMS football

Players need to get a blank physical form at the RCMS campus for the required medical exam. Forms will be available Monday through Thursday and must be completed by a medical physician.

Signups are at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 at the RCMS gym.

Bring the completed physical form, proof of insurance (insurance can be purchased through the school) and $50 in cash or money order. No checks will be accepted.

First practice is 6 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. Aug. 13 at the RCMS football field. Bring shorts, a T-shirt and black football cleats.

The summer practice schedule is Aug. 13-15 and 18-22 at 6 p.m.

There will be a scrimmage game with Moapa Valley Aug. 23.

Starting Aug. 25, practice will begin right after school and continue to 5 p.m.

At RCMS

A junior volleyball camp for students grades 6-8 next school year will be held Aug. 25-28 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Rosemary Clarke Middle School gym.

Tryouts for the 2008 Lady Sharks team will be Sept. 2-4, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the gym.

Another camp for seventh and eighth graders may be held this month. Call 727-7737 for information.

Pop Warner

Pop Warner football registration forms for players 5 to 12 years old can be picked up, then completed, at Worden's Farmers Insurance, 2210 E. Commercial Road, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The cost is $180; applicants must bring a copy of their child's birth certificate to register.

Tournament

The Nye County Sports Association is sponsoring a basketball tournament July 30-31-Aug. 1-2.

One-Pitch

The annual men's One-Pitch All-Night softball tournament will start at 7 p.m. Saturday at Petrack Park.

The entry fee is $150 per team with a five-game guarantee.

Volleyball in the Park will be conducted each Sunday, starting at 6 p.m. at Petrack Park. A grass court net will be set up for all who wish to play.
