Hilda Jean Wise

Hilda Jean Wise, 85, passed away July 28, 2008, in Pahrump.

She was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Rubicon, Ill., and was a resident of Pahrump for two years, having come from Hawaii.

She retired from the credit union in 1989, where she was the manager of a loan department.

She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of Waves International and the YWCA.

Her faith was Christian.

Nephews Skip Higginbotham of Pahrump, Robert Cummins of Greenfield, Ill., and Rob Higginbotham of Sonoma, Calif., and nieces Joyce Higginbotham of Pahrump and Jean Helsley of Caldwell, Idaho survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Minnie Prather and sister Jewel Cummins.

Services will be 2-3 p.m. Aug. 4 at Pahrump Family Mortuary.

Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Greenfield, Ill. (07/28/2008)

Patrick J. Bertoch Sr.

Patrick John Bertoch Sr. 63, passed away July 19, 2008, in Las Vegas.

He was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Sandusky, Ohio and was a resident of Pahrump for 13 years, having come from Las Vegas.

He was employed as a Harley-Davidson mechanic and welder and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was of the Catholic faith.

His passion was riding his motorcycles. The love of his life was his old panhead, affectionately known as "Miss Panhead." They shared many adventures together on the open road.

He was a good man, a loving father and grandfather, and a good friend. Those who knew him will all miss him very much.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife Jeannett Bertoch; his father Carl A. Bertoch and step-mother Sara Bertoch; mother Patricia Gifford; son Patrick J. Bertoch Jr., and his wife Genie Bertoch; daughter Antoinnette Hall and her husband Robert Hall; grandchildren Dustin Bertoch and Mindy Gagnon; great-grandchild Destiny Gagnon and one sister and seven brothers.
