The Silver State Classic-Enterprise PBR tour hits McCullough Arena in Pahrump Saturday.

The first event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the arena, featuring some of the nation's top bull riders. According to the PBR Web site, tickets can be purchased at the Pahrump Valley Auto Plaza; phone 751-0300. The price is $17, with part of the proceeds going to aid Lee Akin and his family.

The Pahrump show is the 43rd (of a scheduled 84) in the Enterprise series, which began Oct. 19 at Kansas City, Mo. and will conclude Sept. 25 at Pomona, Calif. Some of the stops between now and the finale will be at Richmond, Va.; Owensboro, Ky.; Syracuse, N.Y.; and Plains, Mont.

According to the Web site, an estimated $8,000 in prize money will be awarded. In each round, the site reports, the previous Built Ford Tough Series long-round winner will ride for the Enterprise Ride with the Best bonus. If the rider covers his bull, he will earn a $5,000 cash bonus.

However, "if the bull launches the cowboy before he can cover eight seconds, the $5,000 bonus will go to the bull's stock contractor," the site states. According to statistics, the bull has prevailed 11 times, with 31 riders earning paydays of from $2,500 to $5,000.

PBR has three other major tours -- the Built Ford Tough Series, the Challenger Tour and the Discovery Tour. There are 30 stops on the BFTS tour; the Copenhagen Challenger Tour is comparable to baseball's minor leagues; the Enterprise Tour features both current and upcoming PBR stars, and the Discovery Tour is directed at "smaller grass roots markets," according to the Web site. There are also PBR tours in Brazil, Australia, Canada and Mexico.

At the end of the BFTS season, the top 45 riders will qualify for the PBR World Finals presented by Wrangler.

So far, Clayton Williams leads the list with $533,814.13 in earnings. Travis Briscoe is at $226,816.67 and Robison Palermo's earnings are $175,291. The 45th prize money thus far is at $18,369.07; there are 383 riders listed as money winners.
