Darts

The Pahrump Alien Amusement Darts League had several competitors in the world championships contested recently.

The throwers were Ed Sulitis, Bill Benoit, Nate Demaranville, Jeremy Ford, Tabitha Sulitis, Alan Ford, Junior Webster, Larry Labrecque, Charlie Ford, Jeremy Ford, Rhonda Bell, Sabrina Bell, Morris Bell, Rhonda Bell, Ray Aquino, Ed Anderson, Donna Lord, Heidi Ford, Doc McGuire, Tricia McGuire, Connie Pectol, Sheri Abrahamson and Judy Hester.

The local throwers competed in several levels in 501 and cricket, as well as in doubles, singles and team events. The highest finish at any level was second, by Tabitha Sulitis at Level 19 and T. Sulitis-E. Sulitis in doubles level 11. The team of Burt Ford, Alan Ford, Charlie Ford and Jeremy Ford was fourth.

Softball

Pahrump Valley Softball Association standings:

Women -- The Crew 5-1, Ruff Ryders 5-1, H&M 1-5, No Drama 1-5.

Co-Ed -- Ruff Rdyers 2-0, Road Kill 3-1, Rosie's Rockyard 3-1, Git Er Run 2-2, Lawbreakers 2-2, Pahrump Nugget 0-2, Shockers 0-2.

Men's -- Average Joes 5-1, Saitta-Trudeau 5-1, Dogopoly.com 4-2, Engel Tech 3-3, Ruff Ryders 3-3, Young Guns 3-3, Smokin Dogs 1-5, Bud Light Bandits 0-6.

Volleyball

A volleyball league is forming, with matches to be contested on a grass court on Friday nights.

It will be a co-ed league, with six persons starting on each team. The first eight teams to register will be accepted.

An organizational meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., May 4 in Room A at the Community Center.

Hall of Fame

Nominations are now being accepted for the Pahrump Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Membership forms are available in the PVHS athletics office; the deadline for submission is May 27.

Forms can be mailed or delivered personally to:

The form is divided into various segments:

* Name of nominee ... His or her years at PVHS ... Sports and activities the nominee participated in;

* Area of participation:

-- Athletics (must have graduated before 2002-2003 school year);

-- PVHS athletics contributor (booster, sponsor, other actions which warrant consideration);

-- School district employee (administrators, teachers, coaches).

The nomination sheet is to be signed and the date of nomination listed.
