Volleyball

A volleyball league is forming, with matches to be contested on a grass court on Friday nights.

It will be a co-ed league, with six persons starting on each team. The first eight teams to register will be accepted.

An organizational meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., May 4 in Room A at the Community Center.

Hall of Fame

Nominations are now being accepted for the Pahrump Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Membership forms are available in the PVHS athletics office; the deadline for submission is May 27.

Forms can be mailed or delivered personally to:

The form is divided into various segments:

* Name of Nominee ... His or her years at PVHS ... Sports and activities the nominee participated in;

* Area of participation:

-- Athletics (must have graduated before 2002-2003 school year);

-- PVHS athletics contributor (booster, sponsor, other actions which warrant consideration);

-- School district employee (administrators, teachers, coaches).

The nomination sheet is to be signed and the date of nomination listed.

Roller hockey

In Skate Zone Roller Hockey League games, the Green Machine defeated the Sharks 16-14, the Bruins edged the Thrasher 4-3, the Green Goblin stopped the Chicken Wings 5-3, the Rat Pack stopped the Silver Bullets 11-3, the Penguins overran the Sabres 11-3 and the Warriors overpowered the Kings 14-7.

Brayden Williams had nine goals and Kades Kia Fox six for the Machine, with Noah Jubinski netting 10 goals for the Sharks. Teammate Wes Fuller had four.

Math Trujillo had three goals for the Bruins, while James Witten had two for the Thrasher.

Cris Muffatt scored twice for the Goblin, with three players netting one each for the Wings.

John Grieco, Mark Sawyer and Michael Breen combined for nine goals for the Pack. Dylan Drigger scored twice for the Bullets.

Wido VanMuyden, Dan Appleby, Mundo Veloz, Eric Arnold and Brad Schaefer scored at least two goals each for the Penguins. Three players had one goal each for the Sabres.

Billy Cummings had six goals and Dylan Drigger added four for the Warriors. Jeff Carl, Rick VanBuytene and John Maughan had two goals each for the Kings.
