Need someone to get the cactus burrs and desert dust off man's best friend? Pretty Paws and Rumps is available to pamper your canine pals and make them clean and pretty.

Tonya Veach, new owner of the business, guarantees customer satisfaction.

Located at 1601 East Basin Road, Suite 103, the business also offers a weekly mobile grooming service depending on need and employee availability.

The mobile unit offers all standard grooming services. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 8 a.m. until the last dog is done; Sunday by appointment only. Walk-ins are also welcome, but appointments would prevent the animal from having to wait.

Veach moved here in 2000 and bought property big enough for her horses. She has been around and taken care of animals for over 40 years, 19 of those in Las Vegas and seven in Pahrump.

When the opportunity arose to purchase Pretty Paws and Rumps, she jumped at the chance and moved it from Irene Street to its new location on Basin.

She offers a non-smoking facility and accepts all types of dogs, even difficult ones.

An all-natural shampoo (a honey-almond mix) is used as well as a conditioner to reduce static as well as a detangler.

The shop is able to accept up to 20 dogs a day, depending on number of appointments and employees. The facility is clean and healthy for animals and has up-to-date equipment.

Employee Stephanie Garrison said, "I love working here. Tonya is a nice lady and really great to work for."

Ron Sikora, a customer who has used the service since 2003, added "They ensure my dog receives great service and they treat him right."

Veach said, "I appreciate the community for helping the business grow. I am accepting new clients. I'm glad to take care of animals, I love them. I love Pahrump and the freedom it offers its residents."

To make appointments or ask questions, call Veach at 775-727-5056.
