Special to the PVT Sen. Harry Reid met with a group of students from Beatty High School, who participated in the Close Up Foundation trip to the nation's capital city. Aside from visiting museums and memorials, they attended classes and lectures on government and citizenship. Reid told the group, "I am always glad to see young people taking an interest in democracy. Civic participation is a fundamental part of any successful democracy, and I hope you return to Nevada inspired by your ability to help shape the country."
