FLYBALL

MARK WAITE / PVT
It was a loud and agitated event behind Pahrump Fire Station No. 1 at Petrack Park Saturday morning as these dogs competed in a flyball tournament. The dogs are required to jump over four hurdles, retrieve a tennis ball from a stand, then jump over the four hurdles on the way back. Two four-dog teams competed on parallel courses. In this photo Matt Lerner from Irvine, Calif., serves as the "box loader" feeding tennis balls into the target for "Tilly" the dog.
