Pahrump Elks install new officers

Elks and their officers in the Pahrump Lodge No. 2796.

The Pahrump Elks Lodge No. 2796 will install a new slate of officers at the lodge on April 6.

Pat Miller will become exalted ruler of the lodge. Miller was formerly exalted ruler at the Summit County lodge in Colorado from 1991 to 1992.

Other officers being installed Sunday include: John Berg, esteemed leading knight; Ed Underhill, esteemed loyal knight; Eileen Miller, esteemed lecturing knight; Dennis London, lodge secretary; Sandra Pergin, tiler; Martha Frame, inner guard; Ray Markwell, chaplain and Dave Brechbiel, esquire.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks started in New York City in 1868 as a social club. It has since evolved into a major American fraternal, charitable and service order with more than a million members, both men and women, throughout the United States.
