Cameron Belcher will be in the Pahrump Valley lineup Thursday, when the Trojans host a Southern Nevada Class 3-A League match at Mountain Falls, which will be the site for the regionals May 8. Faith Lutheran, currently leading the league, along with Boulder City, Virgin Valley, Moapa Valley and Needles, Calif., will play here Thursday.

LAS VEGAS -- Yuki Sato shot a 75 to lead undefeated Faith Lutheran to a five-stroke victory against Pahrump Valley in a Southern Nevada Class 3-A League boys golf match Thursday at Highland Falls here.

The Crusaders, 3-0 in the league, shot 424, while the Trojans, who have finished second in all three matches, had 429.

For the Trojans, Cameron Belcher had 77 to finish second in the match for the medal.

For coach Bob Hopkins' team, Will Peers had 89, Anthony Franco 83, Elliott Owens 94, Shane Lindemann 92 and Daniel Shimakawa 86.

Faith Lutheran's scores were Blake Hampton, 80; Mike Mayer, 85; Trevor Ensign, 94; Charley Berry, 93 and Chad Kaercher, 88.

Faith Lutheran has 30 team points, with Pahrump Valley at 27, Mesquite Virgin Valley 24, Overton Moapa Valley 21 and Boulder City 18.

For Virgin Valley, Jordan Smith had 83, Jacob Chambers 93, Joshua Chambers 87, Anthony Lucero 84, Justin Cascaden 90 and Bryson VanHouten 99.

Moapa Valley scores were John Wilson 101, Taylor Stevens 95, Andrew Andersen 100, Casey Lewis 96, Travis Causey 88 and Cody Nichols 96.

Boulder City's Ryan Roundtree had 91, while Brandon Faircloth had 90, Nick Stevens 101, Jeremy Dunbar 99, Joe Nunley 108 and Brad Neilson 107.

Needles, a Class 2-A school which occasionally plays with the Southern 3-A teams, did not have a team score. Nolan Hartwick had 99 for the Californians.

In the player of the year standings, Kato is first with 35 points; his scoring average is 74.3 strokes per 18 holes.

Belcher is second at 31 (77.7), with Hampton at 29.5 (79.3). Josh Chambers is fourth at 21 (83.7) and completing the top five is Mayer at 18 (85.3).

Peers 5 (90.3), Franco 9.5 (89.0), Owens 12 (89.0), Lindemann 16.5 (86.0) and Shimakawa 8 (87.7) complete the Pahrump Valley individual points list.

NOTES -- Pahrump Valley hosts a Southern meet Thursday at Mountain Falls, starting at 11 a.m. ... Remaining matches are April 10, at Mesquite; April 17, at Mesquite; April 21-22 at River Valley, Ariz., Invitational; April 24, at Boulder City and May 1, at Las Vegas (Faith Lutheran host) ... Mountain Falls will be the site for the Southern 3-A regionals May 8, starting at 11 a.m. ... The state tournament will be played May 13-14 at Mesquite.
