LADY TROJANS UNBEATEN Fitzgibbons keys PV golf winPVT
Sierra Fitzgibbons, Pahrump Valley's No. 6, shot a 99 to help homestanding Pahrump Valley remain undefeated in Southern Nevada Class 3-A League golf Thursday. Fitzgibbons, a first-year player, had her score count, along with 86 by Courtney Salmon, 90 by Jasper Biggs, 91 by Ashley Keller, and 100 by Meghan Morales, as Pahrump Valley shot 466 on the par 72, 5,600-yard Mountain Falls course. Coach Julie Floyd had nine players in action. Hailey Forry had 109, Mariah Genet 121, Shyanne Dixon 122, and Brittani Dinicola 134. Pahrump Valley is 5-0, with 50 team points. Mesquite Virgin Valley, second in every league match, has 45 points, with Las Vegas Faith Lutheran at 24, with three third-place finishes. Boulder City and Overton Moapa Valley have yet to field a complete team for any of the league matches this fall. For Virgin Valley, which had a team score of 494, player of the year points leader Samantha Bulloch had 87, with Felisha Baeza at 94. Amanda Bulloch had 101, Hannah Bulloch 104 and Merlin John 108. For Faith Lutheran, Gina Reighard had 101, Shawn Haggerty 106, Ashley Lacher 108, Rachel Aaron 126, Anissa Hall 135 and Remi Turok 137, as the Crusaders shot 577. Boulder City had four players, led by Margot Potter, who shot 88. Ashley Vince had 93, Bethany Smith 112, and Bridget Ward 116. For Moapa Valley, Haley Causey had 123, with Amanda Jacobmyers shooting 141. NOTES -- Samantha Bulloch has 55.5 points to lead the player of the year standings ... Courtney Salmon is at 49.5, Ashley Keller 44, Margot Potter 38.5, Hailey Forry 36, Jasper Biggs 34, Amanda Bulloch 32.5, Ashley Vince 31, Felisha Baeza 30.5, and Shawn Haggerty 17, to complete the top 10. ... Meghan Morales is 11th at 13.5, with Sierra Fitzgibbons at 13 for 12th. ... The league teams play at Boulder City Thursday and at Mesquite Oct. 4 to complete the regular season ... The Southern regionals are Oct. 11 at The Palms in Mesquite, with the 3-A state tournament Oct. 16-17 at Palm Valley in Las Vegas. |
