Thank you not enough

On Sept. 1, my husband Harold, fell face down in the garage. I called the ambulance which arrived within minutes.

Harold was transported to Desert View Regional Medical Canter Emergency Room where he was immediately attended by Dr. Slaughter, Nurse Kevin and the respiratory team, (Thank you Otis).

Harold sustained an orbital facial fracture, broken teeth, cut the inside of his upper lip, which required stitches, and sprained his left wrist.

He was admitted to the hospital and seen every day by Michelle Stacy, M.D. She was very thorough and advised us of all the complications which ensued.

Jay Selznick, M.D., an oral surgeon was called in and Harold did not require surgery.

Harold was given excellent care by all the staff.

We want to especially thank Lily, the R.N. who was on duty Labor Day weekend. You are indeed an angel of mercy.

As I said, we could never find words and offer enough thanks to all who attended Harold.

Harold was released on Sept. 4 and is improving each day.

Just do it

The month of October is a month to fast and pray to the Lord our God; the creator of heaven and earth, that God.

We are one nation under God. We are the United States of America and we are a nation blessed by our Lord God almighty.

Why are we afraid to state that fact? Why are we afraid to pray to our God in our schools and meeting places?

Are we afraid of God?

If God is for us, then who can stand against us?

We have been looking for Osama Bin Laden for four years. I bet God knows where he is.

I bet God can lead our forces to him and any other enemy that is about to rise up against us.

Do you know why? Because we are one nation under God, that's why.

Why are we willing to allow a few to stand in the way of keeping our nation under God?

Come on people. Stand up for your God, your holy, merciful, loving God...your father in heaven...your savior who was beaten, hung on a cross and died for you.

He has ascended into heaven and petitions God on our behalf.

Let's not let Him down, let's not disappoint Him.

In October, give up something you like for one month in honor of your God. Pray whatever your heart feels led to pray.

Just do it.

Two stories too tall

After reading the article about "800 condos win RPC nod" for a retirement community, I had a question about the second story condos.

Are they going to have elevator access?

The elderly and retired seniors that are less mobile do not need stairs to navigate. Falling or tripping on stairs or uneven ground can be catastrophic and even fatal to the fragile bones of the elderly.

Most retirement communities are single level structures like the "Villages" in central Florida, a huge retirement community of over 10,000 plus single story units...and still building.

Maybe RPC should do some research on retirement communities.
