Trojans second in Vo-Tech run

Running in a meet hosted in Las Vegas by Vo-Tech, the Pahrump Valley cross country teams finished second Tuesday.

In the girls' meet, the Trojans had 43 points, while Vo-Tech had 19. Las Vegas Mojave, Trinity Christian, and Indian Springs did not score.

The Trojans' McKenzie Dean was second in 16:31, with Tech's Crystelle Schultz winning in 16:31.

Pahrump Valley's Stephanie Andros was eighth in 20:13, with Ashlee Wolf 11th in 21:01, Nicole Dillon 16th in 22:10, and Pam Hunter 19th in 31:54.

In the boys' meet, Pahrump Valley had 55 points, with winner Vo-Tech totaling 18. Mojave had 89, with Trinity and Indian Springs scoring none.

Pahrump Valley's David Jacobi was 11th in 16:26; the race was won by Tech's Devin Mancuso in 13:37. Tech had five of the first six finishers to post a near-perfect victory.

For the Trojans, David Bindonn was 12th in 16:26, with James Lucas 13th in 16:56. Ryan Howard was 15th in 17:00, and Daniel Spradlin was 19th in 17:22.

Connor Chenevert, Noal Poulos, Josh Armendariz, Dylan Dance, Ben Rencher and James Suber also competed for the Trojans.

The Trojans travel to the Laughlin Invitational Saturday. The meet, at Mountain View Park, starts at 8:30 a.m.
