MARK WAITE / PVT Nye County Deputy James Scott appears awake but bored at midnight during a recent Pahrump Regional Planning Commission meeting. Scott was told to monitor public meetings after an incident in which Sam Jones, wearing a sidearm, was accused of confronting Nye County Commissioner Peter Liakopoulos at a public meeting. Scott said sheriff's department policy forbids overtime, but he takes the time out from his regular duties. |
