Just a thought

After returning to Pahrump after an absence of 10 years, I note that very little if anything has changed. This could be considered good or bad, depending on the view of the beholder.

Some change could, however, be considered to the benefit of most citizens and certainly to the betterment of Pahrump as a whole.

With that in mind, I have a few new laws or conditions that might be considered as additions to the codes to be passed by our "town fathers" (God knows they need the practice in doing something for the town).

Any residence with more that 2,500 empty beer cans in the yard should be considered a recycler and taxed as such.

Any automobile with more than 7/8 of an inch of rust on it should be ground up and used to fill the millions of holes in our roads.

Any residence with more than 17 families in it should be taxed as a hotel.

Any residence with more than 14 children under the age of 10 should be taxed as a brothel. (You know what goes on in there.)

Any yard with tumbleweeds larger than a railroad box car should cut them loose and let them blow to Tonopah.

Any citizen with more than 35 rusting automobiles in his yard should be committed to a home for the hopeless.

Any automobile that has not moved, under its own power, since the end of World War II should be consigned to one of our back street "used car lots" as auto of the month.

Any mobile home with no remaining window glass and more than one missing outside door should be used for practice burns by the Pahrump Valley Fire Department (if they can find it).

There should be a ban on further commercial buildings until at least two of the existing ones are rented.

Speed limits on Highway 160 should be removed. (You don't pay any attention to them anyhow.)

Any front yard with more than 35 tons of dead weeds should be burned to find out if a residence is still in there.

Drunk driving should be allowed between the hours of 2 and 4 a.m. (Group them together and let these morons kill each other, not us. That should thin them out.)

Any family who has misplaced one or more children under the age of 9, but can still hear their voices, might consider cleaning their home. It's more than likely due.

Any yard with more than 68 used appliances that have not worked since Nixon was in office should open their own "outlet" and sell a few.

Any family which has not had an employed, wage-earning adult since 1978 should move to Tonopah to be closer to their source of Income.

Just a thought.

Repeating history

I will try to be simple so that even a liberal can/may understand. I hope but doubt it.

Government can do nothing right. Not totally true but for this missive it will do.

Government started the Korean war and government lost it for us and North Korea.

Government started the Vietnam war and government lost it for us and the South Vietnamese.

Government started the war in Bosnia and we are still there after President Clinton said 18 months would be all.

Government started the Iraq war number one, and lost it for us and the Iraq people.

Government started the Iraq war number two, and is about to lose it for us and the Iraq people.

Government did not help the displaced Palestinians in the '50s and late '40s. That government promulgated conflict and hate continues.

Governments and religions keep the hate war alive.

Just take note that a liberal can be identified easily by their inability to answer a question, dodging but not answering a direct question or in a duplistic way changing the subject. Also, they never seem to have all the facts straight, if at all.

When someone or government does something evil or non-survival, there are only three reasons for that kind of action. To wit; unintelligent, uneducated or basically an evil person. Reasonableness does not correct evil actions.

Having a degree from a non educated public institution does not make that person educated or intelligent. Examples: Carl Marx, Lenin and Colby for starters.

Look up these words: to educate, educated, intelligent and most of all common sense.

So the next time a politician talks about entitlements, someone's rights or benefits go to the Constitution and find where these are mentioned and, note, look up the words in a dictionary of 1776. Also read the Anti-Federalist Papers and the Federalist Papers as well as what Madison wrote about the founding and purpose of our government.

Note, if you have not read the above, you are uneducated on American governmental matters.

Government takes away freedoms and does not grant them.

Government cannot run anything, totally, for our benefit as the Constitution instructs it to do in the preamble.

Examples: customs, immigration, illegal aliens, please note illegal, not aliens. The liberals say that the need to support and have a good life is the justification for breaking the laws of this country. But the law breaking came first. They should fix their own country like our forefathers did in the 1700s. What is so hard for the liberals to understand about that? Continuing -- import (letting tooth paste with car anti-freeze in it get sold here), bridge (declared unsafe and allowed to further deteriorate for two years), highways, and on and on.

So you want more government? If you do then I must put you in the category of the unintelligent, uneducated or just evil and wanting to destroy what this country stood for when I was a young man. In other words you want this country to be a loser in everything it stood for at one time. By the way, that way made us successful rather than a loser as we are today.

Government caused the demise of the following: China dynasties, Egyptian greatness, Roman greatness. And on and on -- Greeks, Phoenicians, etc., as well as a great Arab civilization. Learn from history. The government that governs least governs best. We are repeating history because of uneducation of it.

Don't bitch because you are putting us in demise by either omission or commission. Liberal government. We are just waiting for you to put the lid on the national coffin, yours and ours.

With love for our forefathers and their sacrifices to create this hopeful Constitutional Federalist Democratic Republic.

JOHN ANDERSON
