Todd Shute of Des Moines, Iowa, won the 40-lap IMCA Modified championship race at the Boone Nationals Saturday.

The 25th annual event was led in its entirety by Shute, who beat defending Nationals champion Rich Lewerke to the checkered flag.

Lewerke was in hot pursuit for the final four laps, but couldn't catch Shute.

In the sport mod division, Tracy Wasenberg outraced defending champion Jason Mallicoat of Boone to win that finale.
