PREP SOCCER Trojan booters at 3-0PVT
Yes, it was just non-Southern Nevada Class 3-A League action for Pahrump Valley High School's soccer teams. The Trojans, however, did not let up in games at the high school Thursday. Pahrump Valley's boys and girls ran their records to 3-0 with impressive victories. Coach Greg Leseberg's girls overpowered Overton Moapa Valley 6-0 in a game that was a prelude to the teams clashing Thursday in a Southern 3-A contest at Overton. Saturday at noon, the girls are at home against 3-A opponent Ely White Pine. Brittany Orr scored three goals, while Emily Poertner, Brittany Thomason and Shelby Hughes added one each against the visiting Pirates, who rarely threatened to score because of the Trojans' quickness on defense. The boys, coached by Gene Smith, clubbed Lake Mead Christian Academy 10-1 in a non-3-A game. The Trojans, who have outscored their opponents 25-1 this season, are at home at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in a league game against Moapa Valley. Tyler Raymer and Daimon Nelson scored three goals each for the Trojans, who got one apiece from Iggy Wagner, Erik Rodriguez, Mike Redman, and Alex Fonseca. Again, team speed was the difference, with the Trojans simply outrunning the Eagles, who are new to the game and to the Southern league in soccer. NOTES -- The boys soccer team will play at home Sept. 22, vs. White Pine; Sept. 27, vs. The Meadows; Oct. 9, vs. Boulder City; Oct. 18, vs. Lake Mead, and Oct. 23, vs. Faith Lutheran ... Pahrump Valley's girls are at home Sept. 18, vs. Boulder City; Sept. 25, vs. Faith Lutheran; Sept. 29, vs.Moapa Valley, and Oct. 25, vs. Virgin Valley. |
