Softball at co-ed level

A co-ed Mosh Ball tournament, with a 16-inch softball and wooden bats with no gloves, will be played Saturday at Petrack Park.

The entry fee is $100 for local teams, $150 for visiting teams. The entry fee includes a pot-luck barbecue lunch.

Lions golf Sept. 28-29

The Pahrump Valley Lions Club will host its fifth annual golf tournament Sept. 28-29 at Mountain Falls.

The format is four-person scramble. All proceeds will benefit the Pahrump Valley Lions Club scholarship and sight conservation activities. For information or to register, contact the Pahrump Valley Lions Club at 727-9016.

The tournament on Sept. 28 has a shotgun start at 7 p.m. on the back nine. The entry fee is $45 per person for the 9-hole round, with a shared cart and a sleeve of three glow golf balls.

The Sept. 29 schedule includes an 18-hole round, with the cost $75 per player; a shotgun start is at 9 a.m. A two-day fee is $95 per player.

Hole sponsorships are available at $100 per hole, for both Friday and Saturday rounds. Saitta-Trudeau will provide a vehicle for any golfer who scores a hole-in-one each day. There will be long-drive and closest-to-the-pin contests.

Sr. Olympics in November

The third annual Pahrump Senior Olympics will be Nov. 1-4.

Events include basketball, billiards, bowling, cycling, dance, power lift/fitness/weight training, 9-hole golf, 18-hole golf, golf skills, horseshoe pitching, single-action pistol shooting, tennis, 5-K run, sudoku, track and field, walk, and football punt, pass & kick.

Eligibility is in two age groups: 45-49 for Masters and 50 and over for the Senior Division. Contestants can choose to participate in as many of the events as they wish. At the end of the four days of competition, there is a dinner and awards ceremony.

Donations, either in money or gifts, are being sought for gift bags to be presented at the dinner. Checks should be made payable to the Pahrump Senior Olympics, 601 S. Highway 160, No. 500, Pahrump, Nev., 89048.

School league seeks bowlers

The Pahrump Homeschool Bowling League, for boys and girls 3 to 17, is registering for the fall league, which will start Friday and run for 10 weeks at the Pahrump Nugget.

Golf clubs for soldiers

Wanted: Golf clubs for soldiers. We need 40 assorted drivers and #3 and #5 woods. Left-hand clubs are welcome as well.

We are also looking for an Organization or group willing to help with shipping.

Homeschool bowling league

The Pahrump Homeschool Bowling League is taking sign ups for the Fall Bowling Season. The league is open to all homeschooled children ages 3-17 with parental consent.

The league meets Friday mornings at 9 a.m. at the Pahrump Nugget Bowling Center to bowl 2 games.

The Fall Season will begin Sept. 14 and run 10 consecutive weeks. The cost for the season is $65 per bowler which covers 10 weeks of bowling, shoe rentals, and a pizza party and awards ceremony on the last day of the season. All bowlers will receive a trophy.
