Letters to the Editor
Golf club drive a success I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful people who helped with the "Golf Clubs for Soldiers" drive and fund raiser. Thanks for the golf clubs, tees, golf balls, shipping boxes and money for shipping. The response was overwhelming. Thanks go out to; the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 10054, Jim Neilson, the Schiller family, Dotty Rutowski and Roy, Joyce Cochrell, Elaine Goins, Joy Tuller, Jean at Looks with Style, Eli and Megan Prunchak, Jerri Smythe, Sherry Kiava, Jewell Burton Avery, Linda DeMeo, Marilyn Borasky, Wal-Mart and Donna, Trevor Weir, Foye and Bobbie Crooks and all the folks who shopped at our yard sale. God bless our troops, God bless America and God bless you for supporting our troops. LETA F. WEIR Government secrets? I am extremely bothered. While focus is on terrorism and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, our president has quietly begun the steps toward a North American Union (NAU). This is an integration of Canada, Mexico and the U.S. He is doing this under the authority of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Congress gave him fast track to negotiate; and in 2005, he signed with the leaders of Mexico and Canada to the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SSP). This agreement aims at harmonizing our tax and regulatory policies, merging our immigration, customs and law enforcement and opening the borders for migration of people among the three nations. The EU began with open trade -- a common market. It evolved into the European Community (EC) and then became the European Union, with Brussels as the regional governance making the policies and laws -- even mandating the change of currency dictated by the European Central Bank. We are being told that trade with not evolve into a NAU, but President Bush has been acting like a king. The congress has had no part in these plans and the people have had no voice and no input. Working groups of global elitists; made up of former government officials, academics and corporate leaders are now crafting policies and rules for integrating Canada, Mexico and the U.S. There will be --like the World Trade Organization (WTO) -- unelected groups to govern our economy, judiciary and law-making institutions. Already discussed proposals are; $100-200 billion from the U.S. to Mexico for infrastructure, education and economic development; and the common currency called the "amero." This indeed sounds like a regional governance to me. It is exactly how the Europeans are deceived and thus have lost their sovereignty of nations. Now I see why so many of congress, as well as the president, have strayed from constitutional responsibilities. They have sold out to the globalist elites. To know more, read the book "The Late Great U.S.A." by Jerome Corsi and ask the presidential candidates where they stand on the NAU. KATREEN ROMANOFF Thank you Pahrump I would to thank you very much for your generous response to the food drive conducted by KNYE 95.1 FM on Oct. 20 at Wal-Mart. All the snack items were taken to the Boys and girls Club and the other items were donated to Our Lady of the Valley food bank. May God bless you always. ROBERT F. GAVAN |
