David Asher

David Asher, 66, passed away Oct. 9, 2007 in Pahrump.

He was born May 4, 1941 in California and was a resident of Pahrump since 1997, having come from Yamhill, Ore.

Asher was a retired firefighter and served in the Navy. He was a Vietnam veteran and of the Christian faith.

Asher loved doing anything outdoors and was the total outdoorsman.

His wife Georgie Asher; daughters Christy (Troy) Schmechel and Robyn Madreno; sons Greg (Connie) Asher, Don (Katie) Asher and Eddie Asher; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him.

Services were private. (10/09/07)

Charles Kaucky

Charles Dean Kaucky, 45, passed away Oct. 19, 2007 in Snellville, Ga.

He was born Jan. 15, 1962 and lived in Pahrump for ten years over the course of his life. He was raised here and graduated from Pahrump Valley High School.

Kaucky served as a Marine and was an automotive painter.

His father Charles Kaucky of Pahrump; brother Carl (Becky) Kaucky of Pahrump and sisters Desie (Bill) Mendenhall of Pahrump and Cindy Miller of Riverton, Wyo. survive him.

His mother Sadie Kaucky, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Nov. 3 at First Southern Baptist Church. A reception at the home of Carl and Becky Kaucky, 3360 W. California Street, will follow immediately after the service. (10/19/07)

Richard Birch

Richard (Richie) Birch, 71, passed away peacefully Oct. 5, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer.

It had no mercy but he fought like a hero and was so brave.

He was born to Richard and Blodwen Birch, on Nov. 24,1935 in Coventry England coming to Pahrump for the first time in 1992.

After retiring, Richie found joy in gardening, growing, canning, and pickling his own vegetables and growing flowers.

He loved cooking, baking and making jams and jellies. He took pleasure sharing his specialties with his family, friends and neighbors.

He also enjoyed taking walks with his dog of 15 years, George.

Richie always had a kind word to and for others and always eager to please the people he loved. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor even at the very end.

His son, Dave (Linda) Birch; daughters Cheryl, Lin and Jackie; grandchildren Tiffany, Stacey, David and Katie; his best friend of 55 years Ray, all of England; his loving and only sister Eileen and brother-in-law Mike Connolly of Pahrump; nieces, Maxine Alex, Donna (Vidal) Lopez both of Pahrump, Julie Connolly, Maureen (John) Baker both of Colorado and Michelle (Donnell) Tyars; nephew Michael Connolly (Gina) both of Las Vegas and many great-great nieces and nephews survive him.

He was proceeded in death by his parents.

Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 in Coventry England. (10/05/07)
