Las Vegas, NV -- Professional Case Management, a Department of Labor-enrolled provider of home nursing to chronically ill nuclear workers will sponsor town-hall meetings and an open house at two different locations.

The open house will be held between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Oct. 24, in the private dining room of the Stockman's Steakhouse at the Nugget Hotel and Gambling Hall, 681 S. Highway 160.

The town hall meetings will be held at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino, Salon D, 2411 West Sahara Ave. in Las Vegas. Refreshments will be served at all events. Each event will provide information on how Nevada Test Site workers can possibly qualify for compensatory monetary awards and free medical benefits under the Energy Employee Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA).

Information will be presented about the Part E Amendment, which potentially increases the payment to workers or their eligible survivors. This is over and above the previous $150,000 compensation under earlier versions the Energy Employee Occupational Illness Compensation Act (EEOICPA). In addition to monetary awards, the Department of Labor-administered EEOICPA authorizes full medical coverage for workers with qualifying illnesses. This medical coverage allows for in-home nursing for up to 24 hours per day at no cost to the recipient. There are no deductibles or caps to this coverage. Given the mushrooming costs of medical care, this benefit could help workers and their families avoid catastrophic financial consequences. Professional Case Management specializes in providing in-home care to chronically ill workers. The company hires local skilled nursing personnel based upon patient and family needs. Patients and their families often prefer the comfort and convenience of in-home care to placement in long-term care facilities or assisted living centers. Nursing services also relieve family members from the burden of complete care for their loved ones. For more information, including details on patient eligibility for free care, please call 888-886-2281 x322, or come to the Pahrump open house anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. or attend one of the Las Vegas town hall meetings.
