Obituaries
David Asher David Asher, 66, passed away Oct. 9, 2007 in Pahrump. He was born May 4, 1941 in California and was a resident of Pahrump since 1997, having come from Yamhill, Calif. Asher was a retired firefighter and served in the Navy. He was a Vietnam veteran and of the Christian faith. Asher loved doing anything outdoors and was the total outdoorsman. His wife Georgie Asher; daughters Christy (Troy) Schmechel and Robyn Madreno; sons Greg (Connie) Asher, Don (Katie) Asher and Eddie Asher; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him. Services were private. (10/09/07) Rose Robison Rose Marie Robison, 94, passed away Oct. 17, 2007 in Pahrump. She was born Dec. 11, 1912 in Ellsworth, Kan. and was a 10-year resident of Pahrump. Rose was a registered nurse for 40 years. Daughter Judy (Rudy) Novotny; brother Dave Kolachny of Floral Park, N.Y.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Raymond. There will be no services. (10/17/07) James "Cactus Jack" Creek Sr. James "Cactus Jack" Creek Sr., 86, passed away Oct. 16, 2007 in Boulder City. He was born April 20, 1921 in Kansas City, Mo., and was a resident of Indian Springs for 40 years. He was a retired Marine ranked as a master sergeant and served in World War II and Korea. Daughter Christine Selinsky of Mcadview, Ariz.; step sons Ronald D. Johnson of Indian Springs and Frank Johnson of San Diego, Calif.; sons Doug Creek of Peyton, Colo. and James J. Creek Jr. of Decorah, Iowa; daughter Kit Phillips of Whittier, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him. The grave side service will be at 12 noon, Monday Oct. 22 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne, 7400 W. Cheyenne Road in Las Vegas. (10/16/07) Jimmy Lee Johnson Jimmy Lee Johnson, 44, passed away Oct. 13, 2007 at his home in Pahrump. He was born Nov. 20, 1962 in San Diego, Calif. and was a Pahrump resident for two years. He worked as a commercial insulator. His children Chance and Megan Johnson; mother Geralyn Goodall; brothers Rick and Bob T. Johnson and Jack Teague and sisters Valerie and Karen Johnson survive him. His wife Sherry and father Bob Johnson preceded him in death. Services were held Oct. 18 at Desert Memorial. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Local 135 Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Scholarship Fund. (10/13/07) |
