Mary Mickey Mary Mickey, 92, passed on Oct. 6, 2007. Mary loved to do ceramics, crochet and share her stories with her many friends and family. She cherished and loved life and in turn, Mary herself was loved and cherished by all who knew her. (10/06/07) Belva Joy Sanders Belva Joy Sanders, 70, passed away Oct. 8, 2007 in Pahrump. She was born March 2, 1937 in Anna, Ill. and was a resident of Pahrump for 11 years, having moved from Burbank, Ill. She was a homemaker, a member of the 500 Club and ABC Bowling and was of the Methodist faith. Her husband Edwin Sanders, daughters Rhonda (Joe) Melone of Minooka, Ill. and Debbie (Don) Molk of Bourbonnais, Ill.; sons Michael (Kathy) Sanders of Burbank, Ill., Stanley Sanders of Marseilles, Ill. and Terry (Terri) Sanders of Irvington, Ill.; brother Carlton Campbell of Pahrump; niece Kay (Joe) Martin of Pahrump; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by four sisters, one brother and her parents. The service is private. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. (10/08/07) Dolores Sandoval Evelyn Dolores Sandoval, 75, passed away Oct. 8, 2007 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 23, 1931 in Los Angeles, Calif. Dolores and her husband moved to Pahrump in March of 2000 from North Las Vegas and were previous residents of Agoura, Calif. Dolores was a member of the Red Hat Society Rabble Rousers and the Pahrump Gunfighters since 2005. In California, she was a member of the American Legion Sweethearts, Hughes Aircraft Retirees Association, Manual Arts High School Alumni, Tommy Toilers Club, publicity director for the Golden State Mobile home Owners League and her "honey's" secretary for everything else. Dolores retired from Hughes Aircraft Company as an Engineering Specialist in 1988 after 38 years of employment. Sandy and Dolores were parents to five children; sons Kenneth and Michael (Pat); daughters Beverlee (Tony) Cruz, Diedre (Bob) Studholme and Debra (Jerry) Marott. There are 9 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her husband Alphonso J. "Sandy" Sandoval, brothers Richard and Edwin; sister Arlene and her parents preceded her in death. Pahrump Family Mortuary handled the arrangements. (10/08/07) Layron Christensen Beloved father and grandfather, Layron Christensen passed away Oct. 3, 2007 in Las Vegas. He was born April 6, 1926 to Ellis and Rosella Pollock Christensen in Lynndyl, Utah. He graduated from Cedar High School and spent two years at Southern Utah College. Layron married Fayon Davis on May 8, 1948, and had four children. He valiantly served his country during WWII as a corporal in the Air Force. He was a master woodworker and loved to research family history. Layron was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and fulfilled his callings as a High Priest. He was always known to be the gentlest of God's children and will forever be remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Fayon; children Steve (DeDe) Christensen of Tempe, Ariz., Jeanne (Rick) Church of Pahrump, Pete (Kori) Christensen of Henderson and Linda (Lee) Poff of Henderson; one brother Dale (Margie) Christensen of Pahrump; 15 grandchildren, and 25 great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Marvin Christensen, Maynard Christensen and Jack Christensen; his sister Coy Berry and son Kurt Christensen. Funeral services will be held on Oct. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Pahrump LDS Church. A visitation will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Interment will be held at the Kanarraville Cemetery in Kanarraville, Utah at 5 p.m. under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
