Elks soccer shoot reset

The Elks Soccer Shoot, once postponed, will start at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The competition is open to boys and girls 13 years old and under. The age cutoff date is Aug. 1.

NIAA board sets meeting

The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association will meet Nov. 29-30 in Las Vegas, at a site to be announced.

Junior golf victors named

The Pahrump Valley Junior Golf Association tournament for October was played Saturday at the Lakeview Executive course.

The results:

Boys 7-8: Craig Moore 41, Lucas Tietjen 42, Andrew Blodgett 51.

Girls 9-11: Emily Ursprung 58.

Girls 9-11: Derek Moore 42, Josh Little 47, Nolan Toomer 54, Connor Ursprung 55.

Girls 12-14: Shyanne Dixon 39-40--79.

Boys 12-14: Sam Tietjen 39-48--87, Shawn Dixon 53-53--106.

Girls 15-18: Hailey Forry 40-38--78.

Boys 15-18: Anthony Franco 40-38--78. Dan Shimakawa 37-35--72.

Sr. Olympics in November

The third annual Pahrump Senior Olympics will be Nov. 1-4.

Events include basketball, billiards, bowling, cycling, dance, power lift/fitness/weight training, 9-hole golf, 18-hole golf, golf skills, horseshoe pitching, single-action pistol shooting, tennis, 5-K run, sudoku, track and field, walk, and football punt, pass and kick.

Eligibility is in two age groups: 45-49 for Masters and 50 and over for the Senior Division. Contestants can choose to participate in as many of the events as they wish. At the end of the four days of competition, there is a dinner and awards ceremony.

Donations, either in money or gifts, are being sought for gift bags to be presented at the dinner. Checks should be made payable to the Pahrump Senior Olympics, 601 S. Highway 160, No. 500, Pahrump, NV 89048.
