PV girls outkick New Hope

Pahrump Valley's girls soccer team ran its record to 8-0-2, with an 11-0 rout of visiting New Hope Wednesday.

Brittany Orr, Shelby Hughes and Corissa Rutland scored two goals each for the Trojans, who got one each from Breanna Milk, Brittany Thompson, Angelica Musumeci, Larin Luna and Stephanie Ledford.

The girls go to Boulder City for a Southern Nevada Class 3-A League game Tuesday.

The PVHS boys soccer team is at Ely White Pine today and is at home against Boulder City Tuesday.

In a cross country meet at Las Vegas Legacy, Pahrump Valley's McKenzie Dean won the 2.5-mile race in 16:14, well ahead of Shadow Ridge's Breena Baker (17:28).

The Lady Trojans were fourth in the team standings with 87 points. Shadow Ridge had 35, Faith Lutheran 46, Legacy 75 and The Meadows 121.

Stephanie Andros was 17th in 20:10. Ashlee Wolf was 22nd in 20:41.

In the boys' meet, the Trojans were fourth with 93 points. Shadow Ridge had 22, Legacy 50, Faith Lutheran 71 and The Meadows 142.

For the Trojans, David Jacobi was 19th, with James Lucas 20th.

The Rosemary Clarke Middle School A-team was 3-1 in volleyball over the last week, beating Amargosa Valley twice and Beatty once, while losing to Las Vegas.
