Sharks win at Moapa

The Rosemary Clarke Middle School Sharks' A-Team defeated homestanding Overton Moapa Valley 14-8 Saturday, for its first win of the season.

Cote Blake returned the opening kickoff 69 yards for a touchdown and Tanner Davis caught a pass for the two-point conversion, to give the Sharks an 8-0 lead.

Barry Rankin scored on a 35-yard run to break an 8-8 tie and give RCMS its win.

The Sharks' teams are at home this weekend, with games at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

The B-Team lost 22-6.

Elks soccer shoot reset

The Elks Soccer Shoot, slated for Saturday at Honeysuckle Park, was postponed to Oct. 13, starting at 10 a.m.

The competition is open to boys and girls 13 years old and under. The age cutoff date is Aug. 1.

Sr. Olympics in November

The third annual Pahrump Senior Olympics will be Nov. 1-4.

Events include basketball, billiards, bowling, cycling, dance, power lift/fitness/weight training, 9-hole golf, 18-hole golf, golf skills, horseshoe pitching, single-action pistol shooting, tennis, 5-K run, sudoku, track and field, walk, and football punt, pass and kick.

Eligibility is in two age groups: 45-49 for Masters and 50 and over for the Senior Division. Contestants can choose to participate in as many of the events as they wish. At the end of the four days of competition, there is a dinner and awards ceremony.

Donations, either in money or gifts, are being sought for gift bags to be presented at the dinner. Checks should be made payable to the Pahrump Senior Olympics, 601 S. Highway 160, No. 500, Pahrump, NV 89048.
