More than 2000 high school students from all over Nye County will have the opportunity to prepare for their future at a College and Career Fair Wednesday.

The fair is being put on by Pahrump Valley High School in conjunction with Southern Rural Nevada JobConnect and Great Basin College.

It will be in the "A" Building gym at the high school.

Students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from Nevada colleges, technical schools, the military, and area businesses.

In addition, motivational speaker Keith Froehling will give presentations throughout the day in the auditorium.

Froehling has spoken to over 9,200 companies and focuses on helping individuals and groups to develop the skills necessary to successfully achieve goals and desires.

The fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and breakfast and lunch will be provided by PVHS culinary students.

At 4 p.m., students and parents are both invited back to the campus for a financial aid workshop.

A Great Basin College financial aid officer will help students and parents understand the often-times daunting and complex financial aid process and impress upon parents the fact that despite rising costs, college is still a viable option.
