It was already one of the most difficult schedules in team history. Now, the Pahrump Valley matmen will compete in what will arguably be their toughest campaign ever.

Added to the schedule were:

The physically demanding and talent-rich Dixie Desert Storm tournament at St. George, Utah, Dec. 14-15, and

The prestigious Holiday Classic in Las Vegas Dec. 21-22.

Coach Craig Rieger's team, the Southern Nevada Class 3-A league and regional champions the past three seasons, were already in the Sierra Vista tournament in Las Vegas Dec. 7-8; the Basic Duals at Henderson Jan. 4; the Taggart Duals at Moapa Valley Jan. 5 and the Spring Creek Kiwanis Invitational Jan. 11-12.

The Trojans go to Bullhead City Mohave High School Jan. 18-19 for a series of matches against many of Arizona's top teams.

With 39 wrestlers in preseason camp, the Trojans are getting ready for a trip Nov. 28 to River Valley, Ariz., for a one-day tournament. The Boulder City Duals are Dec. 1 on the Eagles' mats.

League matches are scheduled Dec. 12 at Boulder City, Dec. 19 at home; Jan. 9 at Faith Lutheran, and Jan. 30 at home.

The Southern regionals are Feb. 2 in the PVHS gym, which according to the latest reports may not be open until Jan. 1, pending the completion of a reconstruction project.

The state 3-A tournament is Feb. 8-9 in southern Nevada, at a site to be announced.

Pahrump Valley's junior varsity will compete Jan. 11-12 in the High Desert Classic, a mostly varsity-level tournament hosted by Tonopah.

Pahrump Valley will host the Nye County Championships Jan. 23, with Tonopah and Round Mountain varsity and JV teams to compete in that one-day tournament. Beatty will not have a wrestling team this season.
