Thanks to the generosity of Pahrumpians, things could be looking up for the Lane family, who lost everything but the clothes on their backs when the home they were renting burned down last Monday.

Heather and James Lane (previous reports incorrectly identified them as the Pope family) have six children ranging from age 10 and down.

Laura Field is willing to donate a 70-foot, three-bedroom, single-wide trailer to the family, provided they can find a place to put it and some money to move it.

"I know what it's like to be without anything," Field said.

Although she regretted not being to help move the trailer, Field said she had lived in it for four years and described it as in good condition and on tires, literally ready to roll.

Since she had a clear title to it, she decided to donate it to the family.

A bank account has been set up at Wells Fargo in Heather Lane's name for monetary donations. The account number is 1277726509.

J.G. Johnson Elementary School is also accepting donations, including children's clothing, on behalf of the Lane children at their front office.

Anyone who can assist the Lanes in finding a plot of land to call home is asked to call Heather at 775-910-9360.

Heather expressed a deep gratitude for those who have reached out to help her family.

The cause of the fire that burned down the double-wide trailer on Shady Lane and Woodchips Road is still unknown, according to Fire Chief Scott Lewis.
