Are you sure that's not the Eagles?

One of the most talented and in-demand cover bands to perform anywhere is coming to Pahrump.

Hotel California sounds so much like The Eagles, a legendary rock band from the 70s and 80s, that eyes closed, the difference is imperceptible.

Hotel California was founded to fill the void left by the demise of The Eagles in 1982. They have faithfully and accurately reproduced the sound of the Eagles studio recordings. The result is incredible.

The band will rock the house in two shows, at 6 and 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17 on stage at the Nugget.

One reason the band is so successful is of course the musicians. They take pride in watching, as those who have never before heard them, stare open-mouthed when the first notes hit the air. The reaction tells the band they have it right.

The second reason for success is the tremendous amount of talent and versatility in each and every musician. They multi-task, each of them play more than one instrument, and in order to reproduce the tight harmony of the original legends, all but the drummer sing.

The members of the band, Dicky-Lee, Wade, Ken, Keith and Steve; play a total of 15 types of instruments during their performances and some of those instruments have another half dozen variations.

It's a wonder they can move around on stage with all the instruments placed within arms reach of the appropriate musician.

The talented performers stand alone in personal credits as well; collectively they have played with major musical artists like Boston and Van Halen, greats such as Tina Turner, Steven Bishop, Johnny Nash and Etta James.

Members have opened for the Little River Band, Dave Mason, Randy Meisner (Eagles), Kenny Rankin, Richie Furay, Huey Lewis and the News, WAR and 38 Special.

When top level artists need a last minute substitute, Keith is at the top of the call list.

Movies, television, commercials and songwriting are also a part of the collective resumé.

Hotel California has played for Pahrump in previous years. They were the main stage band two years in a row at the Fall Festival and they've performed a couple of times at the Nugget. They're back because they're a crowd pleaser for Eagles fans and it's always worth the time to hear them.
