WORLD SERIES OF POKER QUALIFIER Bayne wins free-roll tournamentPVT
Bill Bayne won the November World Series of Poker free-roll no-limit tournament at the Pahrump Nugget Saturday. Blackie Harms was second, with Rollie Batayola, Buzz Busbee and Bob Black completing the top five. Bayne, who earned 10 points and the winner's share of a $2,100 prize pool, is now tied for eighth place in the overall standings. Harms, with nine points, moved into 12th place. Batayola is the series leader with 24 points; Busbee and Black are tied for fourth with 13 points. A 30-player line-up will compete in February for five $2,000 seats for the 2008 World Series of Poker, to be played May 30-July 17 in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Players qualify for a free roll by completing 40 or more hours of live play in a calendar month. The next free roll is Dec. 8, with Nov. 30 the cutoff date.
