He was born Dec. 5, 1940 in Olean, N.Y. to Russell and Rita Amsler.

David was an avid hunter and fisherman. He very seldom came home without his tags filled or his limit caught when fishing. It was said he could catch a fish in a five-gallon bucket.

He also loved teaching his grandchildren to fish. He would catch a fish and then hand them the pole allowing them to think they had caught the fish, while he stood back and grinned.

David enjoyed the outdoors so much that he built his own log cabin in the mountains at Mammoth Creek, Utah.

After he retired, David and his wife spent all of their summers there.

David was a kind-hearted, generous man who will be missed by many dear family members and friends.

Per David's request, there will be no services held at this time.

His wishes were that we hold a celebration of his life when we open the cabin in the springtime.
