A new Christmas tradition is starting in Pahrump with the first annual Holiday Lights Christmas Parade, to be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. in the Calvada Eye.

Forget about decking the halls, participants in this parade can deck their cars in bright Christmas lights.

The parade will travel east on Honeysuckle Street across Dandelion Street and continue up to Calvada Boulevard.

The brightly lit cars will then travel around the eye back to Honeysuckle Street.

Participants must have current registration on their vehicles and a valid driver's license. Although the cars must have Christmas lights on them, those are not to be turned on until actually in the parade.

The parade is sponsored by Spotlight on Pahrump and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10054.

If you are interested in participating, contact Dan Schinhofen at (775) 537-2562 for information and entry forms.

There is a $20 entry fee that will be used toward prizes and to cover costs.
