Pahrump Valley High School’s No. 4-seeded girls' volleyball team won the Southern Nevada Class 3-A Regionals Friday at Boulder City, stunning No. 1 Las Vegas Faith Lutheran and No. 2 Overton Moapa Valley to earn a trip to the state semifinals, to be played Friday at Silverado High School in Las Vegas.

Pahrump Valley was oh, so close, to sending three teams to Nevada state tournaments last weekend. What a sendoff that would have been for the Trojans, in their final fall sports seasons in Class 3-A.

Fernley wins; Virgin Valley next stop
On Fernley's previous visit to Truckee this season in early October, it was the Truckee defense that set the tone in the first half, holding Fernley to just three first downs and never allowing Fernley inside its own 40-yard line as the Wolverines took an 11-0 halftime lead.

CLASS 3-A FOOTBALL: Moapa Valley wrecks Faith Lutheran
On a sunny, breezy day in Overton, the Moapa Valley High School Pirates returned to their winning ways after losing their season finale, downing Las Vegas Faith Lutheran 39-20 in the Southern Nevada Class 3-A football playoffs Saturday.
