AMARGOSA VALLEY -- Edward Joseph Anderson, 43, was arrested and booked on a charges of battery with a deadly weapon with substantial bodily harm on Halloween.

Sheriff's Dep. Joe Cohan was dispatched to a Ranch Road residence for a reported possible stabbing.

The possibility was confirmed when the deputy found Clinton Lilly, 45, being treated for a stab wound to the abdomen at the Amargosa ambulance barn.

Lilly was later transported to University Medical Center in Las Vegas via helicopter.

Further investigation into the incident revealed that Lilly and Anderson had gotten into an argument that became physical.

Lilly allegedly was aggressive toward Anderson, who reportedly said he was using the knife to protect himself.

Anderson was arrested without incident and transported to the Beatty jail where he is being held on $500 bail.
