Gardens draw visitors

The Landscape Tour sponsored by the Pahrump Valley Garden Club May 19 was a tremendous success, according to Chairman Carla Stevenson.

The tour brought close to 100 people to the properties of seven gracious homeowners who opened their yards, front and back, to guests. The properties ranged in size, in location (from Artesia and the Cottonwoods to central Pahrump and to the north end) and in approach, from low-maintenance to a full-blown park-like setting.

Each property was chosen to illustrate a different landscape, not necessarily a professionally-designed landscape, but in some cases a work in progress.

The names of the door prize winners will be drawn at the June meeting of the club, which meets the second Saturday of each month, excluding August and December.

The Garden Club believes each person in his or her own unique way can beautify the community and the club works individually and in the community on projects to achieve that goal.
