14-0 Padres win Junior Division title

The Padres went undefeated in 14 games to win the Junior Division title in Pahrump Little League baseball this spring.

On the Padres' team -- which had Ed Martinez as head coach and John Walker and Jim McCaw as assistants -- were Dyland Dace, Joe Hallenback, Bobby Hurley, Eduardo Martinez, Joe McCaw, Sam Morrow, Aaron Pike, Ryan Pike, Ty Thomas, and Skyler Romero.

The Storm and Defenders were both 12-2 in Minor Division baseball, while the Diamondbacks went 11-2-1 in the Major Division.

The playoffs are under way, but there will be no games over the Memorial Day weekend.

Closing ceremonies are June 9 at 9 a.m. on Field 1 at Honeysuckle Park.

The final standings:

Minor Division

Storm 12-2, Defenders 12-2, Red Wings 10-4, Hooks 6-7, River Dogs 6-8, Muckdogs 4-9, Raptors 4-10, River Cats 1-13.

Major Division

Diamondbacks 11-2-1, Dodgers 8-6, Yankees 6-8, Angels 2-11-1.

Junior Division

Padres 14-0, Cardinals 8-6, Rangers 0-14.
