Funk converts big-four split

Barbara Funk converted the big-four split (4-7, 6-10) at the Pahrump Nugget Bowling Center.

"This is an extremely rare happening," said Fern Payne, a veteran bowler and long-time league secretary. "This is the first time that I have had the pleasure of applying for this award for one of our bowlers."

The various bowling organizations, including the new USBC, offer awards for such performances.

Severt bowls 300--1,038

Dustin Severt, bowling in the new Singles Match League at the Pahrump Nugget, had a 300 game and a 1,038 series, as action entered week two in the summer season.

Severt averages 209 in the league; this season, he has earned 49 out of a possible 54 points.

Jim Reynolds had a 299 game and 948 series; he has 31 1/2 points.

Bob McPhillips moved to 54-0 with a 290 game and 934 series. Dale Bystedt had 267--950 and has scored 41 1/2 points.

Richard Alderman had a 927 series, but he has earned only 25 points.
