PVT

The Amargosa Conservancy, a local non-profit land trust, will present a slide show tour and presentation of the Amargosa River basin in Room B at the Pahrump Community Center at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 21.

The show is free to the public and will include historical information and pictures of the settlements and critical environmental areas along this unique desert river. The Amargosa, or "bitter water" river, supports a large population of endemic species of plants and animals that exist nowhere else in the world.

Brian Brown, resource advocate for the organization will give the presentation as well as information about the Amargosa Conservancy and the conservation goals of this new organization. A question and answer session will follow.

For newcomers to the area, the presentation will be an excellent chance to learn about the natural history of this region. Everyone is welcome and light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact the Amargosa Conservancy at 760-852-4339.
