Big O supports cancer researchPVT
Big O Tires and its over 550 stores, located in 21 states, are partnering with the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALS) to help raise funds for pediatric cancer research. During July, all Big O Tires stores will provide information to customers about the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. ALS was started by a young girl named Alexander "Alex" Scott, who, at age 4, while suffering from neuroblastoma, a form of aggressive childhood cancer, began raising funds for research with her own lemonade stand. In August 2004, at the age of 8, Alex passed away, knowing that with the help of others she had raised over $1 million to help find a cure for all kids with cancer. The charity continues to grow in funds raised and donated to research by millions of dollars annually. Big O Tires franchisees and the corporate office are donating $50,000 to the ALS Foundation and also providing opportunities for their customers to donate directly. John Adams, president of Big O Tires, Inc. said, "We are excited to help in the cause of finding cures for childhood cancer. This is our second year in partnering with the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Designating July as Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation month at all of the Big O Tires stores provides opportunities for all of our associates and our customers to help in this wonderful cause started by an inspired child in her own fight against cancer." Stop by any Big O Tires store during July to learn more about a great cause - Alex's Lemonade Stand. |
