Incorporation committee selection will begin soon
By CHRISTINA EICHELKRAUT
The process of incorporating the town into a city took another step forward at the Pahrump Town Board's meeting last Tuesday. The board established a process for selecting members of its Incorporation Advisory Committee. Chairman Laurayne Murray addressed complaints she said she'd received from people who applied for advisory board positions but never heard anything back from the town. "My commitment was that when we ask for volunteers, you will be contacted, we will talk to you, and we can make an informed decision besides just looking at a piece of paper," Murray said. In order to ensure applicants were responded to, the board established a two-member subcommittee to look at the applications and contact the applicants. Clerk Don Rust and Board Member Nicole Shupp volunteered to be on the subcommittee. The board also decided to establish uniform interview questions and develop a process for the interviewing of candidates. |
